Passport photo requirements United States; these are different from the Dutch standard passport photo format. Depending on your application for passport, green card, USCIS (INS) or visa, the relevant authority may also request a digital version of the photo in addition to the printout. Of course you can purchase both a printed and a digital version from us. These photos (for passport & visa) must:

  • Be very similar.

  • Have only a white or off-white background.

  • Have the following dimensions, 50 mm wide x 50 mm high. (2x2inch)

  • The height from chin to crown is 25 mm – 35 mm (1 inch x 1-3 / 8 inches)

  • Free from head covering or dark glasses. If you wear a head covering for religious reasons, you should at least leave your ears visible.
  • Be of good quality
  • Positioned in the center of the passport photo
  • No reflections on the skin or in the glasses and no shadows
  • Natural look

Digital delivery of the visa passport online:

– Size between 600 px X 600 px and 1200 px X 1200 px
– sRGB 24 bit color depth required
– jpg format
– file must not be larger than 240Kb

Online digital application for a green card:

These are the same requirements as for a visa photo.

Costs passport photo, visa photo or green card photo for the United States

Having passport photos for America costs € 15,- with us and you will receive 4 photos of 1 digital version.
If you need both (both the photo print and a digital version) it costs a total of € 20,-

Adjustment in requirements:

We are aware of the latest developments in the rules and requirements that a country imposes on the passport photo. It is possible that a country decides to adjust the requirements for taking a passport photo. To be on the safe side, always take the form that you get from your consulate with you when you have your passport photo taken. In general, the consulate is the first to receive the new rules. This way you always have an up-to-date photo.
